Disclaimer: I know this forum is about digital media, but I found it the most fitting for this thread. If not, feel free to move it.

Anyway, anybody here who likes comics not from fucking Japan? But from AMERICA. DC, MARVEL and shit. If so, post your favorites here.

    Mine are:
The Sandman (1989-1996). You can't go wrong with anything written by Neil Gaiman. The art is mostly very good, too. And Dream is the best main character ever, his development is not too original (from bad guy to tragic hero trying to make up for his mistakes), but Gaiman makes him believable despite being a fantasy being.

And Gotham Central. I'm a sucker for "tough detectives in a sump of corruption" type stories, and I find it incredibly fascinating to think about how superheroes would affect a society and the ordinary peacekeepers' work. This series portrays both, the indivudual stories are well thought out and, to top it off, most of them are drawn by my favorite comic artist, Michael Lark.

Let me know your favorites, I'm always on the lookout for good comics I have not read yet.

Alan Moore doesn't have alot of nice things to say about it, which is unfortunate.

It's the only comic that grabbed me back into reading them regularly, since I was 17 I've kept up with it.

    Preacher
    Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers
    Top Ten
    The Invisibles
I would choose B.P.R.D. over Hellboy but they're both great.
    Frank Miller's 1979-83 Daredevil run

Gaiman is pretty good, but he suffers from a severe case of hipness

    Have you tried this?

    Probably best sci-fi comic ever

    Detective/police/noir genre, I like this

    From Frank Miller:

I love reading comics, but I haven't had enough to express my joy of reading them... well, I'm talking about for DC and Marvel Comics; I already have several volumes of Garfield, Foxtrot, Calvin & Hobbs, and Dilbert, but the problem is I haven't read a lot of DC and especially Marvel. I've only read one Spiderman comic and, recently, a couple Deadpool comics. As for DC: I estimate 10 Batman comics and a couple Superman comics.

I think the reason for this is because I'm picky - picky about how the illustrator draws the characters; stuff like that. I was reluctant, at first, when I first saw how everything was drawn in The Dark Knight Returns because everything seemed to look too cartoony, despite the mature atmosphere, but that atmosphere made it so the comic was worth reading. Comics, such as Batman: Hush, has illustrations that were accurate, in detail, and didn't look cartoony.

TL;DR I like comics, but I'm picky about the illustration, when it comes to DC and Marvel.

I don't read any western comics at all. The only types of comics i read are japanese manga. Im not gonna list the mangas ive read because this isnt a manga thread. Ive read a few doujinshis. Ive only read 3 yaoi doujinshis.
The rest are just regular doujinshis.

The only superhero/villian movies ive ever seen are Kick-ass and The Green Hornet. Those dont even count cus there not comic books. Theye fucking movies.

I guess the shit i post aint relevant here

I've resently gone back to western comics and picked up Lady Mechanika and Red Hood and the Outlaws. Both are very good.
Not always true. Not all western comics are deep and so are mangas.
To me both are so different that nobody can really compare the two.
So please just SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

@immortal_cake? Are non-japanese asians considered weeaboos if they like anime and all kinds of other japanese shit?

Maybe the whole "weeaboo" thing only applies to white people (and sometimes hispanics and rarely blacks) obsessed with japan shit

It's considered anybody that's not Japanese is a weeaboo.

Now stop trying to derail the thread; I want to talk more about Spiderman asking Deadpool why he's stealing his costume.
