Look at their spastic mannerisms: "I do crazy shit with my eyes cuz I'm a psycho."

    Not... Even... Close...

This song ruined the childhood of millions, and their others are equally horrifying.

Lol, in all honesty though, I'm sure even you know you could of done better.

No, because if you find worse songs, they fall into the "so bad it's good" category.

Therefore, SOAD are the worst in history. Not bad enough to be hilarious or funny.

Even though other numetal bands are almost as terrible (Korn, Linkin Park ...) they can't hold a candle to this spaz.

Yes, Linkin Park are fucking annoying. But they are the type of "boring annoying". SOAD actually manage to irritate me. Which is almost impossible for any band to do, except perhaps Coldplay.

I believe slipknot also fall in the irritating category.
Btw do you generaly listen to metal or you were just caught in the mainstream of numetal?

I started listening to Metal when I was 12. Started with Sepultura. First metal record I owned
Then moved to Slayer ... then more gothic stuff like Paradise Lost, Tiamat, ...
Then to Black Metal ... Mayhem, Sigh, Darkthrone, Anorexia Nervosa, Naglfar, The Covenant, Arcturus ...

Nowadays I don't listen to metal, at all. Sometimes to Carpathian Forest because they're fun.
Otherwise mostly electronic / experimental music. Or the Grateful Dead

Thrash for the most part.Maybe some groovy shit like Pantera.I kinda dislike power metal.I also don't like black metal for the most part except when it's more melodic like Dimmu Borgir for example.I just hate it when i can't hear what for example Vikernes is singing over the whole buzz of the shit quality.I also like a little industrial here and there.Numetal and metalcore are both a no-no for the most part.Old school british heavy metal is of course always welcome.Death metal bands are just trying too hard in my opinion so i don't like much death metal.

Thrash is good. Dimmu Borgir are terrible. They're the numetal of BM.

What thrash bands you listen to these days?

I know but his work was very influential for the genre. The tribute album made for him is mostly from power metal bands.

ronnie james dio being good doesn't magically make power metal good
just like led zeppelin being awful doesn't magically make progressive rock awf--

    well that's a bad example i guess
[since rush is the only decent prog band ever]
but you know what i mean

"Prog" isn't actually short for "progressive". That's just what they want you to think. It's actually an acronym for "pretentious rejects orating grandiosely"...or possibly "Randroids" rather than "rejects", but I think Rush is the only Randroid band, and they actually make decent enough music that i can forgive them for it.

...then again, Rush doesn't really do the typical prog thing either. I mean, sure, they still do the wanky bullshit with obscure time signatures and such, but their songs actually have hooks and melody. They're catchy, which is vastly more than can be said for anything by, say, Yes, or early Pink Floyd*, or any ten-a-penny Led Zeppelin wannabe out there.

...Coheed and Cambria is pretty good too, but then again, they pretty much are Rush anyway. Or at least the American answer to 'em.

*I will readily admit that Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall are awesome, and that I rank them among my top 50 favorite albums, but aside from a couple songs on the others, the rest was awful.

When did i say they were not?I am not their biggest fan but i respect them for the great influence they had on hard rock and heavy metal.
