Why is there so much rage directed towards Ron Paul?

No commentary. I just want to know why one of America's last decent politicians is attacked by pretty much everyone. It's more than him being a threat to their party or ideology, I think. But I can't figure out what it is, exactly. Maybe it's a rite of passage for upcoming ideologues? What do you think?

I don't see him being attacked by anyone. Or at least anyone that matters.

Why did CNN snub Gary Johnson out of the debates 17 months before the election?

...Doesn't he have his own ED page for these kinds of questions?

I knew he was batshit insane before I even came across that.

Although, I suppose if you want a more straight answer, both parties see him as someone that'll steal votes from the youngster hipster range. And, that's actually a sizable count.

Ah, another de facto libertarian. Man, Yanks would rather commit suicide than admit that they were wrong. So be it. Better for me, anyway. I want to see America crash and burn. Paul, or some other principled libertarian, might just prevent that from happening.

I think its when folk run out of things they think they should fling their rage at just throw it at anything they feel like throwing it at, then they gather a damn bandwagon... fuckers.

Because if America left the Middle East the terrorists would feel bad. "Are we not good hosts?" they'd ask themselves. And America would say "It's not you, it's us", but you know no one ever believes that. Then the terrorists would get depressed and they might kill themselves, and that would be on us.

    1) If Ron Paul holds a rally and the media didn't report it, did it ever happen?
    2) You'll know who the best leader will be because all of the dunces will be united against him.

In politics, all things boil down to contradictions between parties and ideologies. He's a libertarian whose social views differ little from the Republicans, and has made the back bench of independent American politics his HQ. Whenever I start to take libertarians seriously, I just remember Patri Friedman and his journey to build a floating libertarian paradise.

    1) The media ignores a lot of things for the convenience of those who own them.
    2) People said the same thing about Obama; its highly unlikely that any of the carefully vetted politicians who are allowed in the general forum of debate in US politics are going to change anything. A strict range of ideas within a limited political spectrum is maintained. Those who actually threaten the current state of things usually get assassinated.

It's unlikely that Ron Paul will be endorsed by Oprah.

he might actually get somewhere if the true libertarians succeeded in divorcing themselves from the republicans. we really do need a proper third party in america.

edit: and no, the fucking teabagger scum doesn't count. they represent almost every stereotype there is that you can find on the 'americunt' page of ed.

Because that has worked so well in the past. Hell, even America's Caesar failed to bring about a third party.

Because he has conservative views on social issues like abortion and gay marriage, but at the same time he has liberal principles on the economy, like getting the troops out, eliminating tax cut for the rich, which goes against the dogma of the tea party. So he is attacked by liberals and ignored as crazy old fucker by the conservatives.

I haven't been keeping up with politics, so I wouldn't know. However, I do know that I hate Michele Bachmann and her husband. She better not win. I wouldn't want to live in this country anymore if she did.
