Why can't the Japanese make any good horror games for the PS3?

I would've thought that with all the awesome horror games they made for the PS and PS2, that they could use the sheer power of the PS3 to make some epic horror games. I was playing one of them yesterday. It's called Siren: Blood Curse. The first bit was decent and then it just went downhill from there. That's saying nothing of the shitty cinematic, but I don't play for the movies so that doesn't bother me. I'm waiting for the Silent Hill, Clock Tower and Fatal Frame series to produce something of note. I'm not going to hold my breath, though. (Crossing my fingers for Silent Hill: Downpour.)

And no, Resident Evil 5 isn't a horror game. Or at least it hasn't been since I got infinite ammo for the most powerful gun in the game. Even before that the series has turned into an action game with gore elements.

I take it back. Siren is a pretty decent game. I think I've just grown immune to horror games.

Because linear horror games have no replay value.

Siren was pretty decent. Forget about Silent Hill though, they change to an american developers team, Saw Homecoming was its first release.

You mean they're going to make more!? Homecoming was so shit, though. I can't believe the fans aren't up in arms over it.

Actually, it's not bad per se. It's just not Silent Hill, exactly. All the horror has been replaced with survival horror, is what I mean.

I don't know if that really counts as horror, but Dead Rising 2 is a good give if you liked Romero's Dawn of the Dead and Shaun of the Dead, or just zombie stuff in general.

You make a valid point, however I probably should've been more specific. I meant psychological horror games.

Fuck Resident Evil 5, no horror what so ever, and it pissed me off with how insipid it was.

RE is dead as a horror series, stray away too much from survival horror. Pure shit.

Unfortunately shooting niggers in their natural habitat is not the problem with the game.
    it's the GIANT ENEMY BUGS.

It's probably a good idea since @Sublime would be too busy playing shit games like that to even bother posting on EDF2.

Have you noticed the vacation Sublime's been taking since Skyrim?

    Go watch MLP again.
If you really want good horror games you need to go on the PC. Not saying I"m an elitist, but there are just a far greater variety of horror games on there, like Amnesia.

Yeah, I've already played games that are a decade (or more) old. There aren't any good recent Japanese horror games for the PC either.

    AND NOTHING ELSE.
I'm going PC for the future, but with old PC games i have missed out on for the past 13 years.
I think older games on the PC have the most gems.

American Nightmare is the only game i am looking forward to that is new.
