I worked at McDonald's at the mall near my house when I was 14 years old (1994) for $4.25 an hour.

When I turned 16 I got a 25 cent raise and was able to work in the kitchen.

Stage crew for a production company that used to hold contracts with all the major OKC venues, P-much just wait for shows to come in and build the stages w/ the roadies direction. It paid 10$ an hour with a guaranteed 6 hours per show and 7$ an hour for everyday shit like setting up for hockey. It is still to this day the best job I've ever had, decent pay for a 15-17yo and crew passes to tons of shows, my best memory was talking to one of the ZZ-top guys about lighting standing in the space between the crowd barrier and the stage during NIN, MManson and the jim rose circus.

I was at a NIN/MM/JRC show at the Boston Garden in 1994. My first concert. I saw NIN a year later with David Bowie. Trent and Bowie did a duet of hurt that wasn't terrible.

Did landscaping with my uncle, made like 7.25 an hour. I was fourteen and prolly was violating labor laws running brush hogs n mowers but it was a family business so no one cared. Helped me get into an actual professional outfit after HS.

Also worked in a grocery store as a teen in the off season if there wasn't any snow cleanup jobs.

FYI for those of you too young to remember or who weren't born yet in the early 90's, it was basically this:

Trained to be a lab technician for an opticians for a while, didn't enjoy it all that much (looking at glasses all day can get rather boring after a while) but apprenticeship pay for those jobs tend to be rather good and the people are a lot better than all the office workers I've dealt with in my life.

13 years old, paper route. $70 a week. On bike, 60lbs of newspapers, all hills. I had a CD walkman and would listen to NIN's Broken EP. I spent most the money opening up accounts with BMG Music Service so I could get 12 CDs for the price of 1 over and over. After a month I stopped delivering the papers and was fired.

My first job was a dishwasher at a restaurant, working during their peak hours of business when I was 14. Made minimum.

Was your walkman the "skip proof" that still skipped like a bitch when you breathed on it?

not sure what constitutes a "first job", but I had three introductions to work.

From around 10-12 had a cousin who lived right near a golf course, whenever I slept there in the warmer months we'd go in at friday and saturday nights and scrounge for golf balls (usually getting one backpack full each) then sell them outside the country club gates the next morning 50 cents each.

off the books worked in a deli (was 15-too young to work in NY), picked up some Spanish, and made decent money...at least for a 15 year old in the mid 1990's.

first on the books job worked in a super market, made whatever the fuck minimum wage was at 16. It was a union job and this taught me to hate unions.

When I was in 7th grade I started mowing lawns. I put a bunch of BS flyers on doors, and got a decent amount of business charging 10 for front and 15 for front and back. I was the most loaded kid in middle school. When I got to HS, at the age of 13, I started washing dishes for a bar, off the books, for like 5 dollars an hour without tax.

I worked at my dad's video rental store. I made like a dollar an hour but on the plus side I could watch all the videos and I was also the god of my school because I could sneak in adult films

Made more in tips weekly then the actual paychecks.

Got my hand bit by a crazy dog when I stuck my hand through the door mail slot at a house to drop off the paper. Punched the dog in the head with my other hand to free my bit one.

Carpenter's shop, 14 y/o, polishing metal rods and armatures. My masturbatory practices came in handy( :rimshot: ) and earned me as much as 140$ per day(i was payed by items, not hours). But i was already pretty much an alcoholic at that time, so i usually spent it all on top shelf booze, various drugs and by paying for everyone.. I still consider it one of the best jobs i ever had..

First job was at a Sonic, made 7.25 an hour flipping burgers and just about anything else they asked me to do, even pressure washed the parking lot over night for a while.
