What do you think it was?
Please rephrase the question. I was raised in America so I can't understand none o' that fancy talk
Abu Ghriab is quite possibly the closest thing in recent history.
So... Agent Orange... or the widespread use of depleted uranium... or the indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Balkans... or the pillaging of other nations... or the supplying of warmongering, genocidal maniacs... none of these things compares to a naked pyramid and electroshock to the balls, eh?
When I said "recent history" I meant the first thing that came to mind. I didn't bother to actually think about it in-depth. Sorry.
But hey! You're on a roll there, all those things were pretty fucked up, yes.
those are all myths.
Bombing that poor man in Libya
fuckin amerikans think they can just invade people's space
Lollercausting all the North American Injuns AND, to add insult to injury, making fun of them throughout the better part of Murrikan's history of animation.
The malaria Holocaust
Touche, AJ. Touche.
moral event horizon? please. we've been short-sighted pricks longer than we've been a country.
I must say I'm not unhappy about the idea that China will be the next superpower, replacing USA.
china's time will come and go
everybody who's anybody knows that when it's all over les claypool will be the last superpower
I wonder why that is. Considering that you're such an asianophile. Could it be that, regardless of what you worship in principle, deep down you're just a nationalist.
China in its current state is worse than the USA.
But I believe it has potential to reclaim its cultural heritage, get rid of "communism" (state capitalism) and become a force for good, one day.
It's just a possibility. While the USA in its current state is just decadent and ruthlessly individualistic.
I'm not a nationalist at all.
In its current state? China is on the rise, the US is on the decline. China's leadership is pragmatic, the US leadership is not. If China becomes a superpower, there will be a reason for it. But there won't be another hyperpower for a while. Most likely Russia and India will keep China in check.
Moral event horizon? Excuse me? America was founded on the concept of stabbing people in the back, and then feeling good about it and having a laugh. I won't have any foreign devils suggesting otherwise.
yay! someone agrees with me!
It's those fucking britfags faults.
They are responsible for 2 of the most disastrous accidents in human history-America and Australia.
The Bulgar is half right!
What was my mistake?
Morals are for those who fear progress.
FOR GREAT SCIENCE!
I love the country and dislike mostly of the people who live there and the government.
I used to look up to [the idea of] America.
You don't hate the shit out of Australia? Don't you have to go through a proxy just to view this?
Australia isn't too bad. The worst we have to worry about is the government fucking us up the ass with no lube. And they seem to really enjoy the friction. But at least we don't have lying assholes pretending to be against governments but end up supporting stronger government like you guys do. We haven't reached that level of depravity. Yet.
Gillard, our current prime minister, is trying to find a scapegoat. First it was the mining industries, but she then chickened out because they have PR. So she started attacking single mums on unemployment benefits (I kid you now) and got levelled by almost every part of Australian society. Now she seems to be going after... people on disability. I think. It's not clear. But she really sucks. I mean I hate Howard and Rudd was a jerkoff but either of them are better than her.
