pls elaborate... if you can remember what was that about, that is.. :) EDiots are pretty versatile cooks, or so it seems. Personally, i know i'm preparing some weird weird shit.. my cuisine is inspired by munchies and alcohol-infused visions, and it's never really the same.. but it's fun, always trying out something new.. our regional stuff is kinda strange(one of our main side dishes are dumplings), so i have to.. for example, the local potato salad is stuff of nightmares for most tourists.. :D

@Solution @j15m Ok I didn't have everything I wanted but I needed a fresh batch of salsa so here we go.

-Tomatoes/tomatillos. Normally I like a 50/50 balance but no tomatillos available, so tomatoes only will do.
-Chilies. Again jalapeños were the only ones at hand, plus red chili flakes and a habanero/chili powder mixture with lemon juice, better than nothing. Usually I put more than 5 chilies.
-Half an onion. Red, white, yellow, doesn't matter.
-1-2 garlic cloves. Or one big fat garlic clove as shown above.
    -A handful of cilantro.
-Salt, black pepper, oregano leaves to taste.

Not pictured because not at hand: Half lime/lemon and half avocado. These two significantly change the flavor and consistency of the salsa.

Place cilantro, half tomato, half jalapeño, half avocado, and quarter onion in a blender. Squeeze the half lemon in, add oregano, salt, red chili flakes and black pepper to taste.

IMPORTANT: OPEN YOUR WINDOWS AND TURN THE VENT ON BEFORE THIS!
Throw the rest of the ingredients in a pan and roast covered on medium heat until the tomatoes' skin starts to slough off. Turn the vegetables around once in a while so they roast more evenly.

Dump the roasted ingredients into the blender.

OPTIONAL STEP: To make up for the fact I barely had chilies, I threw some chili flakes on the still hot pan and returned it to the stove for them to roast. You better have those windows open and that vent on at this point, because you really don't want to breathe this unless you want to cough your lungs out:

    http://i.imgur.com/EtB703V.gif

Fun fact: To punish naughty kids, the Aztecs forced them to breathe these fumes.

The roasted chili flakes will add an extra smoky flavor and spiciness to the salsa.

Roasted chili flakes added, ready to blend

Your salsa is ready for consumption. You can omit some of the ingredients or add additional ones, you can not roast anything and blend it straight (this will give you a tangy, fresh-tasting salsa, although very watery too), etc. Experiment and see what you can come up with.

Now we need some food to spread it upon...

Homemade refried beans, scalloped potatoes with feta/horseradish dressing, pig ambrosia and scrambled eggs with baby spinach, onion, ham, topped with melted colby jack cheese. Not pictured: Steamy hot corn tortillas.

It does keep well, provided you store it in a covered container inside the fridge after usage. Some oxidizing is to be expected, but if you don't leave it out all day it will be fine.

Made this the same night endo posted her salsa and didn't want to get laughed at next to her badassery but I made chicken alfredo ziti (very easy recipe):

    Noodles
    20170108_180029.

Hella chicken PROTIP: I BOUGHT A ROTISSERIE CHICKEN BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE CHEAPER/EASIER... IT WASN'T.
    20170108_175847.

Like put the chicken and noodles together with the sauce
    20170108_183202.

To be honest I have no idea what happened after this but here is a picture of one of my cool friends:

I'm house sitting this place for the next 2 weeks and received a call from an unexpected dinner guest and didn't really have the time to shop.. so go fuck off if you knock what I threw together last minute..

Veggies with olive oil, salt & pepper.. basic

Same for salmon.. just the same olive oil, salt and pepper.. and a few herbs and lemon.

I was rushed, so the grill wasn't as hot as I wanted.. so I got mad and threw tree branches over the fences into the neighbor's yards...
I drizzled a lil bit of reduced balsamic glaze on the fish and char grilled veggies, the curried lentils were kinda thrown in.. and found in the fridge of this house.. but really good.

**the pinot noir was from williamette valley oregon and tasted awesome.. as google said so.

but less chunky - we decided to make it more of a restauraunt-style smooth texture. used canola oil instead of olive oil, oregano instead of cilantro, and onion powder instead of fresh (because its what we had available) and lemon juice instead of the vinegar (because Mr. Tofu is allergic)
