Oh lord, I read all about this on another site. It was pretty fucking bad. Always online DRM, micro transactions, day 1 DLC and EA disabling "non-critical" features. Let's not forget about Error 37. I would rather go download the ROM of Sim City for the SNES and watch Bowser maul the cities.
i think what really made this article for me was the ad for simcity i got at the top of my screen while reading it...
"Well guys, we made 30 sequels and are running out of ideas, what do?"
"Make it an MMO!"
-Every game developer
I'm happy when things like this happen because even when I know they're never going back to offline anymore It's ok because all those EA executives are losing a lot of money and suffering and all that stress could unchain violence directed to their family, drug abuse and probably suicide which is what every single executive from EA deserves
i would actually start reading the news again if that happened...
"ea executive shoots wife, 2 children, pet dog, pet hamster, and himself... hamster only survivor"
"ea vice president slits wrists, writes 'DRM' all over walls with blood, bleeds to death"
it'd be so beautiful... so goddamn beautiful
anyway I respect them I mean all this people hate on EA is not a meme or a transitional fashion, its all for damn real they are the Westboro Baptist Church of video games
i respect the developing teams that make the games
i do not respect ea
it always could be worst
him at the head of EA
Meanwhile... de fuck Will Wright went?
Will SKIDROW release an anti-DRM crack patch?
And will Simcity4 be worth playing? I dunno, according to /v/irgins there's a lot of features deleted from the game
EA hate thread
...you can't edit your freeway system? wtf?
The sad part is that there are still asskissers of this crap defending EA for their bullshit.
Actually now that I think about it, isn't this the SECOND time in a couple months span that Amazon had to allow refunds on an overhyped videogame that turned out to be complete garbage?
I wonder how long before that site just doesn't even bother to put EA games up there anymore.
I stopped lollin at the poor saps buying SimCity when I realized that EA is probably going to do the same thing to the upcoming CnC Generals 2
Another deity of evil has been struck down by the internet justice frontier.
How many people want to bet that EA can't handle ME3 ending levels of whining in a 5 month time span.
I built this in his name
I'm willing to bet that this is more coincidental than people want to admit. It's more likely that this guy finally saved up enough to buy that 5th yacht that he always wanted. Anyone with a brain knows that the internet as a whole has at most a 2 week attention span. And "gamers" are some of the most fickle people on the planet. Is it any wonder that corporate execs have no respect for them? If anyone is actually celebrating this right now, I have some bad news: EA will probably do the same shit again once this has blown over.
