Dentist Threatens to Sue Patient for Negative Yelp Review

Read the story and you'll see that this dentist is a serious whore. Not only is she trying to use the threat of a lawsuit to bully this person into taking his review down, but -get this- she's been sending him a bill for $100 for every single day the review has been online, as per the illegal contract she got her patient to sign under duress.

Now then, take a look at the dentists's Yelp page, and you'll see that Yelpers from all over the country are now writing bad reviews of her:

    Stacy Makhnevich, Moron Dentist

This is full of lulz, especially when you look at the pics people are uploading to her business profile. The only problem is that the average Yelper is a PUSSY, and deathly afraid of having their Yelp account deleted for violating Yelp's terms of service. Therefore, the Yelpers are completely failing to upload porn and gore photos to that business profile.

Worse yet, the negative reviews they're writing are completely devoid of tearful, first-hand accounts of being molested by this dentist while under anesthesia.

Fortunately, EDF2 users are not huge pussies like Yelpers are. I think there would be great lulz if you all authored some reviews of this dentist. Also, if you happen to start any troll threads in Yelp Talk, please link to them here. I like it when people troll Yelp Talk.

True that EDF users aren't scared of being sued (what can they take from an already broken individual??) or banned, but you are forgetting one crucial fact: EDF users are often too lazy to go through the trouble of making a yelp account.

Exactly and people are already ruining her. I think we can all just sit back and know that somewhere in the world, a bad person is being fucked over and we can all enjoy the lulz together.

That "contract" would be torn to pieces in court. This is awesome.

Now I don't want to discourage the OP (or any other OP) from doing something like this in the future. It is important for us to know that internet justice is being carried out on a small town level.

That is a disgraceful level of laziness, especially in light of the fact that you can simply log into Yelp using your Facebook account.

Not that I would ever do such a thing. The more I'm pressured to integrate Facebook with other Web sites, the more I resist.

Rice summed it up best, highlighting the level of rape already contained on the woman's yelp page.
When I went there, I went under the assumption that she was left relatively unscathed, and so I had previously laced up my nigger stomper boots and was game to join the kicking... but then I noticed how my work had been done for me, so now I'm sitting back making more cool army mans!

Pretty much.I just asked my mom, who was a partner at a big firm. She just said it depends on the wording of the contract. They did sign the contract to use her services which is a privilege.
But yeah, I think this contract is b.s., it should be voided. How unprofessional of this dentist.

Man, that contract wouldn't hold water in court.
At the most, I only have a highschool level "education" in law, and a lifelong fascination with it (I used to sit in courtrooms and watch them play out.) So, even in my very limited understanding of TRU LAW, I know that contract would fail in court.

I'd like to read it out of curiosity, but knowing how dumb the dentist woman is, the contract must be equally stupid. It's ironic that a dentist's contract is effectively... toothless.

Hah, hah! Here in California, we enjoy rather strong protections, due to our anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) law.

Well, I'm going from what I hear (She tries to explain law to me, because both my parents are lawyers, and my half-siblings are lawyers), also taking into account FL law and NY law are different, you're using her service, which you would have to agree with her terms. If the customer didn't read it, it's their fault, or if they breached it, they are under the contract. It all seems very childish though, I mean, everyone should have freedom of speech unless you're required to keep something secret (work secrets)

That idiot dentist is trying to claim she owns the copyright to any Yelp review her patient writes about her, and that Yelp is therefore in violation of copyright. I am amazed her lawyer would even allow her to make such a claim.

A lot of lawyers are out there just for money. I know my mom's doing a pro bono case for a family who's being evicted for not paying for their rent, while they did and the owner just wants them out. And it's before Christmas, what a scumbag.
