Its a great horror manga written by junji ito. Have you guys read it?
I knew I heard the mangaka's name before.
I really need to read Gyo.
Gyo is hyper lame compared to Uzumaki
But Uzumaki doesn't have sharks breaking down doors as far as I know.
Just read both of them, im sure you can find them online.
Are they anything like Parasite (Parasyte?)? I read part of that and really liked it but never finished it.
I havent read parasite. Gyo is about robot animals powered by farts. Uzumaki is about a town that becomes obsessed with spirals (Hella creepy)
I want to read Gyo if only for The Enigma of Amigara Fault. The rest of it looks good too though.
The enigma of Amigara Fault has next to nothing to do with Gyo's story, its just a mini-story junji ito wrote.
I know, but it looks so cool.
Then go search for it online.
The ending of Uzumaki is lame.
I love that hospital episode, those babies
Yeah the ending could have been a lot better.
downloading now, it looks promising
You could just read it online
btw, has anybody seen this?
Get also Flesh Colored Horror.
Yeah, doesnt do any good to the manga. It could have been ALOT better
Gave me the worst nightmares ever.
Just checked...and I like it
wah, so much to read, just finished like 20 isuess of Walking Dead in a row
Also get Yami no Koe and Shin Yami no Koe
haha, just joking, continue plx, I don't know shit about japanese horror comics, it's interdasting
I read it all and liked it, the ending wasn't that epic but worked well I think
Ah yeah the hospital part was awesome
Yeah, I really hated the mosquito women things. Creepy as fuck.
There's one long comic I read about a planet trying to eat Earth. Hellstar Remina. You should read that too...it's more Lovecraftian in nature.
:O That was a good one, very creepy.
I havent read Tomie yet. Gonna look for it
Lol Tomie had like 10 movies.
Uzumaki was like the first horror manga I've read it in my life. I liked it a lot but I thought the ending was utterly disappointing too.
The Junji Ito's work I am looking for the most at the moment is Scarecrow, which is about a girl staying in a small city where some creepy pagan festival happens every year and horrible stuff happens. Sounds like a Japanese remake of The Wicker Man.
YES. I love Junji Ito. Actually, I found him through ED, when I found the Shark-Breaks-Down-Door meme, then I read about It's Slowly Coming This Way! which of course led to The Enigma of Amigara Fault, which I thought was freaking brilliant. Mangafox doesn't have Uzumaki or Gyo since they're licensed, but it does have some of his really good stuff, like Hellstar Remina, Yami no Koe and Shin Yami no Koe, and Mimi no Kaidan, which I highly recommend. People are stupid, though, and uploaded stuff under Ito Junji and Junji Itou so you have to check both: 1 and 2.
One of his works that isn't on mangafox that I also highly recommend is The Lovesick Dead. It's also called Undying Love. I have it if you can't find it on google. The ending always annoyed me, but most of it is awesome, it has lots of girls cutting their own throats. Just so you know.
I actually liked the ending. I'm not sure what would have worked better, and they ended up together in the end, kind of cute. Sure, she was stupid to ignore his suggestions throughout the whole manga, and he saved her over and over, but still, I thought it was a pretty good ending. As far as Scarecrow (Kakashi, right?), is it the movie that you're looking for? The only manga I can think of by him having to do with scarecrows was the short story of the people who put scarecrows in the graves and the turn into likenesses of the deceased. I believe there was a movie with the same name with his name "attached" to it but I'm not sure if it was the same story or not.
