Women like the idea of this movie
replacing males with females? that doesn't cut it these days. the nigger still only has token status and why aren't the women lesbians? 5/10 progressive. try again.
This movie will perhaps be the first time in history make /tv/ right about something.
"30 years ago.... a movie was made. 30 years later... we're copying that movie almost bit for bit."
Also from /tv/:
Oh man, I remember when Winston was spewing "OH HELL NAW" all over the place in the original.
Well, ALMOST bit-for-bit. Gotta update it to the 21st century and include jokes too. The first Ghostbusters movie didn't have any jokes in it.
E: Y'know what's also funny in the 21st century? Black people acting super ghettoy. That's very progressive to treat black folk as people, not racial stereotypes.
this trailer looks and feels like what it is - made by committee. this new movie in no way captures the spirit of the original and is just a cheap and lazy attempt to cash in on nostalgia by making a by-the-numbers movie with a Ghostbusters themes coat of paint over it. not to mention the rumors of the production being a disaster, the original cast not wanting to cameo in it and the fact that the reason the first movie worked was that the people in it and making it were comedy legends (and a last minute black guy replacement for Eddie Murphy) while this new crew are all barely recognizable, only have one (arguably) well known actress and, ironically, the black chick is actually the only one who looks like she might be entertaining to watch. the implicit agenda pushing (which might be more explicit when the actual movie comes out) isn't doing it any favors either. if they wanted an actually funny woman in the movie they should have hired Lisa Lampanelli, but no one really wants to see a fat old woman being fucked by a ghost. Conversely, they could have gone all out hired Dunham, Silverman and Schumer to make the movie funny just by virtue of how awkward and cringey is it.
I couldn't make it past 30 seconds of that trailer. If someone sprays a theater with bullets during this movie, I think they should be given a congressional medal of honor.
the amount of dislikes it's getting is unbelievable
it just hit 50k and it has only been 8 hours (the speed at which it is gaining dislikes is growing exponentially, as one would expect)
sony is desperately trying to get rid of the negative comments and I actually saw the dislike count going backwards for a moment so they may be doing even more than that
Its only going to feed their martyr syndrome though. I don't think they understand that people might hate it because it's terrible, and not because of some conspiracy by the patriarchial overlords.
Is this gonna be like GhostbusterGate?
and the last thing feminists need is to be fed more
Don't fat shame them bro, they can't help that they've chosen to dress and act like a bunch of jumped up frumpy housefraus. We should be celebrating their disregard for health, personal hygiene and lack of pride in personal grooming.
now post the same thing again but try to make it funny instead of witless whining that is a waste of the time of anyone who reads it.
I can't.... Teach me.
edit: and give me better material to work with.
OMG, I'm so excited.
I know the one chubby white chick, who are the other 4 actresses?
you are all obviously sexist, my female friends and i think the film will be a HIT!!!
Since this movie was announced, they've been trying to simultaneously to downplay and promote the fact that its all female ghostbusters now.
but to the studios it doesnt matter as long as money is made. let's face it more people will watch this remake because they want to appear feminist and supporting women than if there was a remake of ghostbusters staring 4 dudes. Its the same thing with outrage culture, as long as you can convince someone to click because you appeal to their emotions, you succeed. I mean how many copies do you think the SI swimsuit issue would have sold if they didnt put a fat woman on one of the covers? as long as that number is at least (x-1) with x being copies sold without the pig. Than in the eyes of the company it is a good idea.
Hit, I can see that, I might feel like I'd been hit too, after see this thing, hit in the face, with a brick, repeatedly.
I saw that cover, she wasn't half bad. I mean, they photoshopped, airbrushed and edited the fuck out of, and she wasn't terrible to begin with (heavier then most swimsuit models but no hambeast by any means). I think the one with Rhonda "I will eat your babies" Rousy was more terrifying.
What makes me cringe is that this is a "reboot", as in they are hoping there will be more than one of this abominations running loose.
And I've seen fan parodies better looking than the movie...
You joke, but I've seen at least one "journalist" complaining about the black chick's character being uneducated like the black guy was in the original.
I've seen McDonald's food that looks less processed than that movie. It makes Ghostbusters 2 look good in comparison. I never had a problem with an all-women cast if they were good actors. But from the actors to the abundance of bright and colorful CGI, is an attempt by movie executives to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
There are theories that Sony or whoever it is allowed the progressive all female cast to use it as a shield against criticism
which is not too hard to believe
