I am no professional pseudophilosopher. I'm only a dilettante and probably a bad one. The Collective Hallucination a compost of my philosophical thoughts, written as aphorisms over the years. It's for me, not outside readers, which is why it is obscure and strange. Here are some of my most concise and favorite.

• “Justine is the most abominable book engendered by the most deplorable of imaginations.”
-Napoleon Bonaparte, mass murderer, is pissed off at a porno book

Why is sex so evil and taboo but war, violence, and killing people is all right? In movies and comics, why don’t we censor battle scenes and the hurting and killing of people like we censor men and women’s bodies? Why is Napoleon and Caesar, mass murderers, commended as great men, but a beautiful youth who does some petty nonsense in the bedroom a deplorable and shameful sinner? Why is fucking worse than killing?
• The proper woman is put on a pedestal and at the same negated. She is at one moment a powerful, fearsome, dark, chthonian, sexual, demonic force with absolute power over men, and the next moment she is weak, silly, shallow, and incompetent, a child subhuman. At the next moment still she is symbol of all of men’s and ‘Man’s’ virtues. She is justice, purity, faith, love, beauty, wisdom etc. etc. the redeemer of ‘Man’ for His sins.

“Man” is what we are while (and what is incultured in our sphere for they have been acquired to us) while “Woman” is what is beyond us (and thus beyond our control). Men represent humanity while women are aliens outside of humanity. "Man" is in the center of the circle, completely human, while "Woman" stands precariously on the border between human and what is outside and unknown.

In two paragraphs, how we see the sexes. A neurosis from this is one of humanity's cardinal problems and must be resolves somehow.
• In our “modern” paradigm, there is a strict delineation between what is human and non-human, “Man” and nature, and culture and nature. There is a very strong concept of the “human being” and of “humanity”.

But the ancients didn’t see it that way. They saw everything as human and saw themselves as another animal, inseparable from the earth. They anthropomorphized everything the way a small child does. They saw everything as interconnected in a cosmic web of infinite relations; they existed in the animals, trees, and spirits, and the animals, trees, and spirits existed in them. Now, we are ‘human’ and nothing is human.

Are animals not people? As BionicDance once said, some animals were better people than the idiots and bigots she regularly deals with.
• Why is natural law and a transcendental moral order always our order?
• Things aren't in black and white, in contrived oppositions. They are in a rainbow, in gradation.
• Death as a black end is nothing but an illusion. It’s just a transformation from one thing to another. An old thing at its end morphs into a young thing. Why this separation of individuality?

Do you not know we are all one, all the same thing? Our hallucination, our strict separating of things through a linear and progressive logic.

I am this woman from far, far away and she is me.
• Why do we make this lie; that pure reason arrives to truth? Pure reason arrives to nihilism. Because if you only use reason, you eventually deconstruct everything and arrive to nothing. Emotions are the positive force that provides values and meaning. It is emotions and creativity that give Truths, the closest of truth we can ever hope to have.

But because of our emotions, our philosophy will always be subjective and limited.

Reason is the destructive force that destroys values, passion; sexuality is the creative force that creates values.
• We see things as a state of Being “I am” with a solid sense of a fixed identity. But this is not the case, we are ever-changing things that are constantly Becoming, and there is no fixed self for the self constantly changes. Who you think you are now is a ghost who’s already gone, a self-deceit, or one out of many actors.

We don’t sit like rocks, we flow like water through an ocean.
• There is a certain power-logic dealing with a majority group. When a minority group has a slight advantage or makes its voice heard more the majority group freaks out and sees itself as threatened, losing its power, and a persecuted minority.

Gay people can’t be publically humiliated or imprisoned just for being gay and they can get married in a few states? The gay agenda is taking over America and indoctrinating our children into the cult of homosexuality!

Atheists make a few innocuous, public billboards and publish provocative but intellectual books? Those atheists need to learn not to shove their beliefs down people’s throats!

Women are gradually gaining political power, making more and more substantial intellectual achievements and contributions, and are stepping up to dangerous and demanding jobs and are no longer limited by the traditional female gender role? Men are being castrated by evil feminazis!

Colored people are gradually gaining political power, making more and more substantial intellectual achievements and contributions, and are stepping up to dangerous and demanding jobs, and refuse to be treated like second-class citizens? The genocide of the white race!

It's the neurosis of a tyrant over his subjects. Either everything is in control and in its "natural order", in its proper place, or - the oppressed people gain autonomy and are no longer in control - EVERYTHING IS GOING TO HELL!!
• Speaking of which, when people espouse what is "natural" and what is not it is the imposing of their petty morality, what is inside the cultural circle and what is out of it. It's a moral question, and really has nothing to do with science, even though they might say it is.
• For truthers. How is boasting of being “unplugged” any less insentient than boasting of being a “freethinker”? Both people are just as prone to idiocy, emotions, vulnerability, prejudice, manipulation, superstition, and hysteria as everyone else. And believe me, a good deal of “unplugged” people are pretty stupid, and by stupid I mean don’t think critically about their values and assumptions.

What both imbeciles fail to realize is that true Enlightenment comes from self-awareness, knowledge of the inside world. They’re just as dumb as everyone else.
• Even science isn’t objective. The “standard for proof” we use to measure whether an experiment yields enough of a certain result to consider fact is entirely man-made. 95%, 90%, 80%, 99%? If scientists in recent history alone used a difference standard than the current one (95%) our understanding of reality would be very different.

And don’t forget that modern science itself was created under the philosophical doctrine of empiricism, which is hardly objective and universal at all. It didn’t exist until the Renaissance and modern science as we know it didn’t begin until Galileo and Newton and that whole train.

Science cannot exist unless certain values are assumed first, axiomatic values if you will. (And this applies to every philosophy.)
• Man is on top of the pyramid. Everything else is down below, and is related to man. But really we are all part of a circle or spider web and no levels exist.
• The oppressor always creates a narrative to “explain” and justify oppression as the “way things are” or as “normal”. The concepts of “God” and “Nature” are almost always used.
• Angel appear as devils and devils appear as angels.
• Creation and destruction go hand in hand. Very often the destruction of old ideas and values allows new ideas and values to come through. And the creation of new ideas and values is often followed by the destruction of old ones. They can hardly be separated.

The most creative spirits are simultaneously the most free and destructive.
• How Daria and Jane see the world:

Get up.
Go to school.
Go to college.
Go to work.
9-5.
Buy a house.
Get married.
Have children
Buy shit you don’t need.
Retirement plan.

Remember, I am free.

An entire prison routine, a prison lifestyle.

The rest of these people’s lives are like their childhood or high school. You go work (school), resentfully obey the rules (you camel), resent and fear your parents and principals (boss, cops, politicians). Your life consists of going to school to fulfill obligations you resent (work) and after that you indulge in whatever entertainment, sex, and drugs afterwards (recess, video games, and parties). Caricatures in a popup book.

These people stay teenagers in high school their whole life long. All of humanity is Lawndale High.
• The Hecate arrives at nightfall. The dog barks “God is dead!” announcing her arrival.
• On subjugation to authority. If you don’t own yourself, someone else owns you.
• On Bigotry. The reason why people created bigoted ideologies and why they strive to maintain them is to give them an excuse to control people and to gain and maintain their power.

The reason FringeElements and other racists try so hard to prove that racism exists is so they can use it as an excuse to cut off resources or further disenfranchise those who are already oppressed by the system, particularly those oppressed by racism. “Don’t help those poor coloreds. They are naturally and justifiably poor because they are stupid.”

It’s the same reason MRAs try so hard to prove that there is a natural inferiority or wickedness in women, so it is an excuse to oppress them.

It’s the same thing, over and over and over again. It’s all about a desire to control people and maintain priviledge and a sense of entitlement.
• No intellect or emotions. Only aesthetic.
• As for Belize, I’m more capable of understanding this. It’s true that when you become close with someone, perhaps even have feelings for them, you entangle yourself into them. Your identities are shaken since a part of you becomes them and a part of them becomes you. The final space is where the two of you become one or you two disappear altogether, leaving an empty space.
• 13, a magic number. And a magic person, one who obtains so much self-awareness she sees outside of her reality, her world, and her dimension, and breaks the fourth wall. Daria was the first 13 I met.
• Psychology and psychoanalysis is the unveiling and labeling the ancient gods and demons that troubled humankind from the dawn of time under new names.
• There are no heroes or villains in war, only casualties. – By war, I don’t necessarily mean literal war but similar conflicts, stupid mass rivalries with no truth but only pointless death.
• A philosopher advises the young who have yet to search for the sphinx. We are sometimes told there aren’t any answers. They are answers and they’re out there but 1) they’re very difficult to find and 2) they’re far away from the way you think they are.
• All common knowledge is a lie. It is nothing more than custom and knowing it is like knowing the papered walls surrounding you in your cage.

A person whose “wisdom” is built from common knowledge is walking fortune cookie.
• It's funny with civil rights movements. At one moment the oppressed group are demigods, princes among peasants, who have yet to awake their mystical powers. The next moment they are always victims, pitiable and helpless.

And they aren’t all egalitarian either. There are transphobic and classist feminists. There are misogynistic and homophobic people in black communities. There are racist gay people and so on.
• There are no stupid questions but there are many stupid answers.
• Funny how truth works. It isn’t just facts. It is a subjective emotional insight.

At the same time there is “truthiness”, or how much something sounds like a profound truth even though it may not be. Many hate groups and other propagandists say lots of things that are simply incorrect. They are poorly reasoned and do not measure up to biological, anthropological, historical evidence. They cannot stand scrutiny and critical thinking.

But that doesn’t mean anything because their sound bites have a lot of “truthiness” to them because it appeals to their customs. And emotionally appealing to people with soundbites is how to be a good politician. Leave actually thinking critically and having a mature understanding of the world to academics. – Not even that!
• Image is more important than substance. Myth is more important than reality.
• All “one sided” narratives are propaganda.

Based on my experiences I had in a dream, I am a fallen agent of God whose crime is adultery with the enemy. I mean why does any of us experience the things we do in the illusion that is Samsara?

I didn't meet Daria at the age of 13, she IS a 13. It's my own label for certain people. Daria is the famous MTV character, the one with the famous outsider personality and sarcasm.

Some commentary, part of it even serious

If the hallucination is really colective...is still hallucination?

Because you (the beast inside) want others to see the victims of your violence, it creates fear, which is good for you. And it's safe, because nobody can steal your deads.

But you don't want others to see your partners, not very closely at least, because that can create lust and they can be stolen/seduced etc

Both sides of the same coin: How to separate yourself from the unknonw/unpredictable. Just the two extremes.

Poeple are animals, animals aren't people. People is a sub set of animals.

For me, what separates animals from people is the lenguaje.
Animals with a grammar complex enough as to imply that they make abstract representations of the world/things, and operate with those, for me are people (nothing to do with being human, for me intelligent aliens would totally be people...)

How couldn't?

Gay.

I disagree.

A ton of semtex is the end for a building. After the explosion, all the atoms are still there, not even transformed into another thing.

But the building isn't no more.

Nah, too simplistic and u know it, lol

That comes mainly from our languajes, tho it's pretty possible that (the capacity to do quick) labeling is an evolutionary necessity too

Try to speak in E-prime, it's quite interesting.

lolwut

Source about that 95%, plx

More like a security blanket, imho

Tha's dumb, mate. Aesthetics come totally from emotion. And without intelect or emotions you can't be called human.

In fact, I doubt that (functional) intelligence can exist without emotions, and several medical studies seem to agree.

Of course, emotions without intellect is what rabid dogs have, not very impressing.
Pedo

And ancient gods and demons are also the unveiling and labeling of archetypes/structures inherent to the neuro-endocrine mechanisms of our brains

Do you have access to a PC?

"Way-making which can be put into language is not way-making." ~ Lau Tzu

"He lived a long time ago, but he is still alive." ~ Tractates Cryptica Scriptura, Phillip K. Dick
Sartre says the self is an other to the self.
Being both the part and the whole, there is no fundamental part and no ultimate whole. This is the Multitude and not the Void.

Whether we like it or not, we apply our own unique logical, lingual frameworks to the world. Even without emotions our philosophy is always subjective. Like the universe as described by Stephen Hawking, our mind is finite but without boundary.

"Not around the inventors of new noise, but around the inventors of new values, doth the world revolve; inaudibly it revolveth." ~ Thus Spake Zarathustra, chapter 40, Great Events. Nietzsche

Not only do we exist in the flux, but as Lacan points out we are not individuals but multitudes. The illusory singular identity "you" is in fact made up of billions of warring and cooperating cells. Each part is a whole, and each whole is a part. The earth can be likened to one large body, similarly warring, and divided into hemispheres like the brain. Eastern religion teaches oneness and western religion stresses strict moral codes. One side is creative, the other is logical. Yet within the center of each is the heart of the other, as westerners have more expressive political freedom and easterners have less.

"Be like water, my friend" ~ Bruce Lee

A supposed lack of collective metaphysics is not a superior kind of metaphysics. As long as there are answers provided by science, there will be questions. What's important is asking the right questions, and atheists, like Christians, just want to force-feed us answers.

Joseph Campbell restates the myth of the "fall" from the garden of Eden, one that is central to all Abrahamic Religions. In the fall myth, man was somehow tainted by Satan and led to unnatural evils that persist to this day. Believers in this kind of a myth see the world as something to be fixed, rather than embraced as it is. In Joseph Campbell's view, the "fall" myth itself is the reason for our fall, simply because it introduced the concept of a world that is not in accordance with nature.
Chogyam Trungpa says that the desire to know one's inner self is the greatest barrier to enlightenment. In this view, knowledge is just ornamentation and really has little to do with Buddha consciousness. Just look at Wesley Willis, a true Buddha, if you don't believe it.

Philosophy is the foundation of science, if we let Philosophy represent a body of assumptions upon which the rest is built. Thomas Kuhn has shown that breakthroughs often come by reassessing these basic assumptions rather than through empirical positivist research.

The circle, the mandala, is one of the basic archetypes in mythology. Man is not the top of the pyramid, but perhaps the collective of man is on top of the global-scale pyramid. Beyond that, we cannot speculate. Narratives, even of our own lives, are only created after the fact in order to rationalize events that are senseless. With the myth of the "fall" permeating all of western culture, even among so-called atheists, Nature becomes synonymous with God. Again, events which can be put into words are not events.

The state of living as a social animal is known as coercion. You are completely reliant on the rest of your species, no matter the distance you put between yourself and others. Non-coercion is a means, and not an end.

Joseph Campbell would say these are all restatements of the "fall" myth. There is evil created by the "other" and we must restore the world to its natural state.

Experiments have shown that chimps will prefer a cage with a warm fuzzy image of a mother which provides no nourishment over a cold, ugly cage that provides food. This experiment is fatal to the chimps.
