Three teenagers who were arrested for smearing a chocolate cake with feces and giving it to a classmate have been ordered to clean toilets, urinals and bed pans at a nursing home and pick up dog droppings. As well as the dirty work, Mayra Flores, 19, Ana Mireles, 18, and Sandra Oritz, 18, will spend 22 months on probation for the stunt they pulled in March at Avon Grove High School, Pennsylvania. A student told the assistant principal that she, her mother and three siblings got sick after eating a cake that four of her classmates had given her for her birthday. The cake tasted so bad, they threw it in the trash. But when, a few dates later, it started to smell she brought it into school and reported it. When the cake was sent off for testing at the state Health Department, lab results found e coli, proof that human feces were present on the cake. Authorities say the trio and a juvenile student - who is awaiting adjudication - provided school officials with written confessions after a classmate and her family were sickened by the cake. She told the assistant principal that when her four peers presented her with the cake, they repeatedly tried to get her to eat a piece in front of them - which she did. According to the Daily Local News of Chester, the girls confessed they had taken the feces from a toilet in Oritz's home and then put it on the cake. Flores, Mireles and Ortiz were charged in June with recklessly endangering another person and conspiracy in connection with the incident. The juvenile was arrested around the same time and is now awaiting adjudication. The school prank is similar to one which featured in this year's movie The Help, when a maid called Minny Jackson, from Jackson, Mississippi, is sacked by her former employer Hilly Holbrook - played by Bryce Howard - and bakes her one of her favourite pies with her own feces in it as revenge. After Hilly finishes two slices of it, Minny informs her she has baked her own feces into it. She calls the incident the 'terrible awful'.
