The part about preventing inflation sounds reasonable. I am not sure how it would work with different (in degrees of complexity) types of goods, though. In theory, your system holds well. However as you pointed out, innovation will be lacking as the incentive to do so is not there. Your final point about individual factories competing, does help to prevent the possibility of incompetence (inefficiency) from a large corrupt bureaucracy. It sounds great, to me at least.
A final note: I am not an economic scholar, so don't hold my analysis to that standard.
Inflation sucks ass.
But you have to remember that Government owning and controlling all means of production can cut off dissidents of food and water, and because there's no 3rd party small producers and private farming would be illegal they effectively control everyone.
Just as the inflation from money being devalued as nothing but IOU in paper form.
Will never work in Americunt.
The beauty pageant leaders we elect will fag everything to hell.
I've decided that it's best that the salary of the managers depend on how much they give to the government.in total. Also, the price of everything sold to shops will be determined by finding their average/median price on the world market. Also, since socialism is all about maintaining absolute power I've decided that it's best that no manager should be given power over more than one site. That way none can gain too much power and become a challenge or a threat to the government. Also, all services not directly connected with goods (doctor/repairman/busker/guard/etc) will be private/privatised until I can think of way of enslaving nationalising them.
The key to maintaining total control is heartless efficiency. There's no need for police, but there is a need for secret police. There's no need for a military, but there is need for a professional officer corps. (Perhaps even have all services interchangeable.) Et cetera. To be everywhere, and nowhere. Levies Conscripts can be raised easily enough. Educated/indoctrinated minds cannot.
This is really starting to sound like a depressing hell no one will want to live in.
meh, I still like the idea of money that becomes obsolete after a certain point of time so people can't horde, become rich, no inflation, but there is still plenty to go around.
This sounds intriguing and I'd like to see it in practice... but it might work better if the money lost value only if it were involved in a purely financial transaction e.g. buying/selling derivatives. Or were you thinking of an "expiration date"-- terms which would prevent communication of unearned privilege?
Wow. This level of ignorance really warrants it's own thread. Wish I had the time. Maybe later. I was planning on making a thread that would inadvertently address this, anyway.
Uh, yeah. Did you miss the part about the whole "socialism" thing. It's right there, in the title. The first word, in fact.
I know you've been blowing smoke out your ass this whole time. I never once said I like the idea. Just pointed out the obvious.
Cool your nipplets, bro. They're throbbing. All I did here was revolutionise socialist thought, because I was bored. Alright? Stop taking things so seriously.
COMMUNISM IS SERIOUS FUCKING
This will only work if the government sets the prices for things. Without the government controlling the prices of stuff inflation will happen.
Didn't see anything about removing the eternally parasitic Jew. Your system is doomed to failure.
The Member Formerly Known As Baya you're not even trying...
It's as if I dug up random posts from my past and made them into a "Failstation's words of wisdom" thre - Genius struck!
I was trying to do a thought experiment in which socialism could work. It can't. Now if I (one of the greatest minds of the 21st century) can't make this shitfest work then it just doesn't work.
Well, ACTUALLY, that's not fair. It can "work" if you have the GULAG system in place. Well, in a place like Russia or China it would look like the GULAG system. In places like Europe or other areas that don't have large empty areas it'll look more like the KZ system. The difference is whether you have fences or not, basically.
Actually in some ways the US is socialist
Mandatory militias and conscription, dipshit.
Conscription is bullshit, its just a bunch of 20 year olds dicking around wishing they were somewhere else. You cant run an army, or any organisation for that matter, with people who dont want to.
Also its highly questionable how many conscripts are actually going to show up in case of a war, and how many of those who do show up will be ready to kill.
I've been studying warfare since childhood. As far as I can tell, only about 10% of soldiers are worth a damn. The rest exist as a distraction to the enemy. This seems to be true regardless of whether you have a professional military or not. I believe there to be a biological basis for this. Regardless, having at least a third of the entire population under arms during a war is incredibly useful.
Your fat ass distracts the enemy.
Weebs like you will be trampling mines, don't you worry.
Why if they could just roll you across one?
