A retired U.S. Army colonel who now teaches modern warfare to soldiers at the University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. has co-written an article with a Civil War expert that has ignited a firestorm today among those increasingly concerned about what some say is a distinct anti-civilian tone that has infected much of the military and Homeland Security since 2009.
So do you think there is enough soldiers who, if ordered, would fire upon civilians? I think there is enough of these myrmidons to cause real problems in America. I personally encourage all EDiots to start stockpiling guns and ammo.

Unfortunately for the idiotic powers-that-be, they are forgetting that a good portion of the military is rampantly conservative.

Another thing they are forgetting is that the Tea Party and other people who don't like big government are the exact demographic with the most guns. So if whoever decides to come crossing the Rubicon into flyover country with the US Military, they're in for a seriously unfun time.

Not only that, but the land in question can be held indefinitely unless somebody wants to drop a nuke or roll out the heavy ordinance. Having the infantry go house to house would be a suicide mission, especially in rural areas where a few well-placed claymores and hidden rifles go a long long way.

Lol, no.
At least with us ground troops this is contradictory to all the damn sensitivity training and civilian consideration that goes into our Ops planing.
Perhaps indirect fires/airforce/navy can be tricked into it as they don't physically see their targets but even then they get their cords and laz from us.
Perhaps in the far future but for now your all good...
Unless your small, brown and in another country

Yes let us have many guns because guns are boss. And Rice, I'm revoking your posting priveleges because you're just a mouthpiece for autistic conspiritards.

Why are you guys fretting over the military? The police are becoming militarised (via being given equipment/training from the military and having its ranks filled with military veterans) and they have a history of "accidentally" killing civilians. Like, a lot of history. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if the military was used on "rioters" (I'm sure the police also get sensitivity training as well, though it doesn't stop them from beating cripples to death in front of their families) but there are a lot more police than there are military. If nothing else, the police will be used as the de facto auxiliary to the military if such a thing happens. (With the only difference between them at the point being the military is heavy infantry and the police is light infantry.)

Your opinion is just as valid as his, but you use the word autistic like that means anyone who questions the government or any power is a autist conspiritard. What you fail to realize is that there are a lot more people who are sick of what is being done and who is doing it, and want to do something outside of the 2 party system. I want to know why that threatens you and makes you so hostile. Why do you care if someone doesn't suck the government's cock like you do? Drop the asshole shtick and be real for once. I know there is a smart person in that hate filled nigger head of yours.

Tell me why people who question the governments and power structures of the world are wrong.

No personal attacks either. Answer the question. If you can't answer me, then say so and don't be a coward.

Lol, "With great power...". I guess living in a country where the military is a joke has its advantages.

As for me, I think the American military can do whatever the hell they want, provided it's in their own country or some faraway sand pit. They start messing about in good ol' Western Europe...

...well, there's not a whole lot we could do (except maybe launch all of France's "vintage" warheads and hope the US missile shield isn't all it's cracked up to be), but I'd be seriously miffed, I tell you that!

keep in mind, stormtroopeer was in the NAVY. She was never trained on any weapons system. She was a glorified gopher. Remember, not everyone in every branch is actually a combat soldier.

Keep in mind FURTHER that stormtrooper as a woman is FORBIDDEN to be attached to active combat duty. She has seen no action, and will NEVER see action. She's a giant lesbian slut, and her father is ashamed of her.

Hunting deer doesn't train you to hunt men, nor make it easier to kill a man. The same goes for negros beaners and chinks. Shooting them doesn't make killing men any easier.

Well it's more along the lines of kicking in doors and going from house to house in search of ever elusive "persons of interest" to find and detain.

White people probably will go quieter than the brown people did in any case.

If by aid you mean riddle their environment with depleted uranium and other dangerous hazards then yes. But seriously, everything they learnt during their occupations of other nations they'll be applying to the mainland. You should be proud that you had a hand in it.

Speaking of Americanisms, what's the deal with using specialised light infantry (like marines and paratroopers) for army work? As far as I know the army is the largest branch of the US military and they're specifically trained for all the stuff they had you do. Despite that they used the aforementioned specialised units as well as pooling naval cadets like Stormy. So much for all that bragging.

America has fought in Afghanistan. You know, the "unconquerable nation" and "bane of all empires." Americans thought that if they behaved like pussies and killed from a distance then they'd be safe but the Afghans started using road bombs and turncoats. There's nothing the USA can do which cannot be adapted to by any insurgency anywhere.

We're being too nice. If we did to them what we did to Japan, they'd grovel at our feet in no time. We waste all sorts of time trying to rebuild their society and protect the innocent. If we burned their crops, shot any man who looked at us crossways, and left no stone standing on another in any town in Afghanistan, they would be humbled in a hurry.

The USSR didn't, and still doesn't, have our aerial strike capabilities. We ended the gulf war in 100 hours. Inflicted 30,000 casualties in 100 hours. Made tank troopers so goddamn afraid that they refused to get in their tanks, because they know it meant death. We left burning tank hulks across miles of desert, called "the highway of death". The russians can not equal our feats of war.

I can't think of a single war where America's air advantage won them the war. The major example you cited, Japan during WW2, was "defeated" when Hirohito intervened but would've otherwise continued to fight with no diminished military capabilities. (Indeed, because Japan had a centrally planned economy at the time and had no raw materials to speak of the destruction of its cities were less of a burden and more of a relief for the government.)

Obvious troll is obvious. We burned half their country to the ground, and it was only stubborn Japanese pride that kept them from surrendering as long as they did. It wasn't a "relief", now you're just being angry because you lost.

And I just mentioned the gulf war, where we annihilated some ridiculous number of tanks with aerial bombardment. Iraqi troops were so afraid of planes that they would even surrender to unmanned combat drones.
