In a few weeks I am going to get a new laptop, and I wanted some advice. I was searching for a laptop for gaming. Yes yes yes I know that laptops arent the best suited computers for gaming, but I am for the mobility, I prefer the ergonomy. I was requesting help because I´ve found some good laptops for around 800 $, buuut there is an issue: most of the good priced laptops were of AMD architecture. So I am asking, are AMD processors good for laptops, especially for gaming? AMD laptops are quite cheap and with good graphic cards, compared to the Intel ones.

Remember that I am quite nooby on this matter, so it is quite possible that I end posting some stupidity
Could you please explain with detail why AMD blows over Intel in laptops? I need convincing reasons

Intel chips do more instructions per clock cycle, seeing as intel focuses on the efficiency. However, if you're gaming, that graphics card and cooling will be your main concerns.

About cooling I can buy a cooling fan for laptop. Or whatever the device is called. About graphic cards...most of the Intel laptops I can buy have that GeForce 610M, which has got low ratings, as far as I have searched. But my main question here is that if AMD can be a good processor for a gaming laptop, seeing its availability in the market.

Maybe I should check if there is a "Mount yourself" service around here for laptops, because of the graphic card. But even so, I am divided with that question

Lol laptop cooling pads dont do anything other than keep your balls from getting cooked.

If you want a decent gpu you're looking at the 1500+ price range and at least 17 inch.

Best to dump the whole idea and get a desktop & ultraportable for when you need mobility

And amd replies with more cores/clocks fyi.

    An fx-6300 outperforms an i5 2500k by like 10% with all cores on, fx-6300 = 130/140 bucks, 2500k = 210 bucks

Surely intel beats amd processors on ipc but really, really, you get more performance out of it.

Jewish dick has no foreskin. I'd rather everyone suck on the Jewish dick, rather than uncircumcised, anteater-like Goyim dick. It's hygiene, aesthetics, and all that.

Get the biggest screen you can afford. Get a Corei7. Get Nvidia GPU. You'll pay more, but it will last longer. Better to do that than save a few bux and find that you can't play some gay game in 6 months.

Or just get a netbook and watch porn.

AMD is shit. I've noticed that a handful of games fail to render correctly at certain points using an AMD processor. A handful is a handful too many, Intel fucks up every now and then too, but not as bad as AMD.

OP if you want to play games on a computer, never get a laptop to do so. You'll pay out the ass to acquire a laptop with a dedicated GPU, when you could spend the same amount, and build a better desktop computer.

You can't go wrong with Nvidia, they practically invented the GPU.

The only good AMD processors are the APUs, which are for low ends and tablets.
But when going high end Intel is your only choice.
Even if they are overpriced and run by Jews

A desktop's always going to shit on a lappy for everything.

    Except mobility.

If that's a requirement, then you gotta go with the laptop and make the best of it.

AMD is cheaper than Intel, but pretty decent if you're looking to save a few shekels dollars. For a GPU, grab an Nvidia660. Good card for a good price (200$ or thereabouts, IIRC). But gaming on a laptop is like driving a Prius: it'll get you where you want to go, but you're a retard for using one.

After reading all the answers in this post, I think I would be better off purchasing a desktop and a netbook for whenever I need mobility. The budget would be still around 800$, and the netbook takes 300$, so that means I am left with 500$

I was thinking about purchasing a Quad Core i5, I think it somewhat suits my idea of a cheap yet effective processor, that might stand for around 6-7 years of gaming, which is the usual lifespan I give to my technological devices. What do you think?

    Out of budget

But I was being super serial!

But you've got the right idea. Desktop is the way to go along with a cheap decent laptop. I'd recommend a chromebook, but they have earned the ire of several of my peers for their lack of obvious programs like iTunes despite the fact that linux and OSX are like inbred cousins at a Southern Family Reunion.

I'd recommend stuff, but I'm shit when it comes to hardware.
