None of these release groups are important. Thank god all of the big ones still use the superior mkv container.

On another note, spelling "incompetent" incorrectly while gloating makes you look really retarded.

Yeah you wouldn't want people to be able to enjoy their pirated media on all the devices above, ITS NOT EVIL WHEN WE DO IT!!11!1111 i wish MKV a quick death like its equally unnecessary brother OGM.

If hardware manufacturers thought like you, we'd still be stuck with avi.

Interesting you always blame us for avi's continued use when its your abortion of a container + mpeg2 audio thats the reason its still in use today. (thankfully not for long)

Codecs give us better compression containers give us fuck all, Se we allready have a container for MPEG4 and have since 2003 ... Its called MP4.

Which is patent encumbered and supports less features than Matroska.

So you're saying it's not patent encumbered?

Thank god MP4 is pretty much dead and buried in the release scene.

Pretty much every device released in the last two years supports mkv.

Edit: also, if you'd actually know how to read, you'd notice that these guys aren't dumping mkv for mp4, but they're dumping xvid contained in avi for x264 contained in mp4. Also, all of this only applies to SD content. HD releases will continue to be released in the superior container format.

Yes, but they don't support x264 contained in that mp4 container, so you're still going to be shit out of luck.

MPEG4 Part 10 which was only released in 2003. My old KiSS DP 1000, which was also released in 2003, does not support h264. The first player that did support h264 was released in late 2005. h264 being part of the MPEG4 standard, does not mean that it works on every device with standard MPEG4 support.

Thats part 2 not 10, x264 is just a AVC encoder like mainconcept sorenson etc itll work on any part 10 device wrapping iso standard files in mkv is asinine.
