I'm really sad about this. I wanted my tax money to be used to celebrate immigrants.
Why do you keep posting these in Hard Gay instead of News?
Hard Gay Chats is the only forum I really post in. I'm unclear as to what posts belong here and which ones belong elsewhere.
What, St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, and Cinco de Mayo not good enough?
If your Mother/Fatherland celebratory festivals don't include food or beer, they're worthless to us.
I'd say there should be a holiday where we celebrate the Europeans immigration here, but that's basically Thanksgiving. I just think instead of togetherness we should celebrate by giving small pox to kids on a reserve.
I am glad they decided to cancel this though. Funding shouldn't go to some bullshit, redundant holiday.
According to the article, the festival would have cost $22,500. You could feed a lot of hungry people with that kind of money.
And nothing of value... and so on.
Say what you will about the Immigrant's Day festival, I've always been a huge nut for its fun-fare. Nothing is as memorable as the 'Marry to Become a Citizen' ring toss games, or the 'Knock a White' whack-a-mole clone, and the classic arcade game, Race Invaders. I'm also a huge fan of the 'Job Robbin' Puppet Review,' where a gang of non-descript gray coloured, but definitely not North American puppets get into all sorts of wacky hijinks crossing the sea to find work in North America, the UK, and Australia - and ends with the puppets taking the puppet master's job! --
the last scene always shows the human puppet master, with a doll's hand up his ass, limp along to stand in line at a temp work center. I always give that part a standing applause.
I'm SOOO sad that this awesome parasite immigrant day festival is canceled this year!! Boo!!
