I keep getting heartburn after eating certain types of food. I'm not certain what those foods are, exactly. Is that normal? To get heartburn, I mean.

I have it all the time from eating spicy food.

It doesn't stop me from eating it though.
Part of the reason for that is because i like spicy food, but mostly it's because i hate myself and look for ways to punish myself for sucking. But not in any way that will be too unpleasant.

I used to get it, then the doctor gave me some pills which helped adjust the acidity in my stomache, still comes and goes though.

Yes, it's normal: alcohol, carbonated beverages, spicy food, tomato sauce, etc

I can't believe you people are actually being informative, I thought this was ED. I guess I'm going to have to recommend the REAL cure... Mix a bottle of bleach and a bottle of ammonia together in any household bathtub and then inhale deeply. Heartburn will become the least of your worries.
