Man WTF is that??? Your ISP has all of your traffic. There is no way of getting around that unless you make your own Internet or steal someone elses. There is no using proxies or switching your DNS to get out of this one. ALL of the traffic coming from your Internet connection stored for 2 years, and the government could use it however they want! There are no usage provisions so officials could interpret it however they see fit. This is very Orwellian.

On another note, I'm surprised Firefox recognizes "Orwellian" as a real word.

Well, would it be that difficult to disable all but the most basic script loading of websites to load them quicker, and just run your computer all day having it visit different websites? If enough people did it they could rapidly create more data than anyone could realisitically store or navigate.

Won't pass anyway, stupid bill, stupid to propose. You would think with all the SOPA butthurt lawmakers would realize the internet is a touchy subject at the moment.

I mean the bill is a good idea, but I only support its implication in areas where blacks make up more than 50% of the population.

Yeah no they shelved it already. I think the government has gotten the message that Internet legislation is toxic to anyone who touches it. They won't be passing anything new until at least next year when elections are over.

Google can only save data you give them. Your ISP saving everything that gets piped out of your house is a little more severe.

    I hope you meant implementation.

The world is quickly finalizing itself into the fascist utopia our forefathers envisioned. I cannot wait.

Encrypting all of your traffic should take care of this.

Well 1. It's pretty much what ACTA wants to introduce
    2. It's completely unenforcable, another dead law

Your PC's MAC address doesn't leave your local network. They can't use it to identify you.

also since it required internet cafes to make records as well, those would store the mac address

ok, well, many people have said that, but I don't actually know of any which extend beyond the LAN, so I was probably wrong about that one

but my other point still stands

They'll start requiring ID if it becomes a problem.

Just build yourself a wifi biquad dish and steal wifi from some place many miles away.
