I cant wait for the cops to go through my cookies knowing they're going to watch hours and hours of wood splitting videos
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...est-buys-geek-squad-to-flag-child-pornography They found a child porn image in the partition of his hard drive that stores deleted files, they used that to get a warrant to search the guys house
Sometimes systems files can get unindexed and wind up in unallocated space, in which case you need to restore the data. The other option is wipe the drive and start over. That's usually a last resort for any computer tech because people will cry about their files. If those files include child porn, maybe he shouldn't have cried about them. He can cry about them in prison now.
When I started reading, I thought it would say the Geek Squad has been uploading whole hard drive images to a big NSA database and watching people who did shit like torrenting films. Take your meds, Tim.
Hahahahahaha this idiot actually told Geek Squad to recover his images. https://www.eff.org/document/third-production-fbi-geek-squad-foia
I dont care about his case im just saying its clear that they are searching for it The story is innocent up until the point where the FBI are literally paying these people to do it
Yes you're right. When they are already looking for something. You cant walk up to a police station and snitch on someone then ask for money
Just remember that snitches get stitches. Unless it's about child porn, in which case you get a cool $500
Also Geek Squad pays shit. Everyone who works there is fresh out of highschool and makes just over burger flipping money. $500 is like two weeks pay for them. Seems like a win/win, unless you're a pedophile.
tbh I didn't even know this was "news". I thought everyone knew any place that examines your computer will snitch on you for anything blatantly illegal on your hard drive.
Agencies can now share information. https://techcrunch.com/2017/01/13/t...llance-data-with-other-intelligence-agencies/
If the FBI already has the world's largest collection of CP and is actively run several servers dedicated to CP why would they need Geek Squad in the first place? Why expand on something which potentially could be an abused when you already have rock solid system in place designed for that particular crime? Chances are Dr. Kiddie-Diddler downloaded at least one image from one of their sites or was in communication with someone who has. Think, the NSA + FBI. I'm pretty sure, if they wanted to, they could have nabbed this guy long ago.
Why do you love child pornography so much? You won't get into the kingdom of heaven with that stain on your soul.
how naive can you be? when has the government ever stopped short of "could be abused" within the last century? if it could be abused by any government agency it will be abused by every government agency. SMH
