America is about to default on the biggest debt in world history. Which means god knows what, but probably involves massive monetary inflation when everybody realises that their dollars are useless. And this is what most Americans are discussing:

    1) Should a billion or so be cut from the budget?
    2) Should creationism or evolution be taught in public schools?
    3) Should homosexuals be allowed to marry/adopt?
    4) Does a person's personal life (or one of their pointless opinions) merit any consideration to whether they should be elected to the presidency?

And a whole bunch of other pointless shit. (Not to fucking mention the idiots who think socialism/whatever is a viable solution to any and all problems faced by the biggest bureaucracy in the world. But I digress.) This thread isn't about that. It's about what pisses you off. About what makes your blood boil when you hear two plebs debate something that has absolutely no practical worth and won't change shit in the real world. All the while their nation burns. Thanks mainly to them and people like them.

could be either (or both!) of these reasons.
ONE) Much like normal people Americans don't want to dwell on the harsh reality of a economic collapse since they don't have the ability to change it and it doesn't seem like it will have a happy ending.
(Just ignore it and hope someone else fixes the problem)
TWO) the whole thing just confounds them, they don't understand anything about the subject, but they do sorta understand things like Creationism/Evolution, Homos in the military and what sort of underwear Obama is wearing right now.

but then, i could be wrong.

Everybody uses "credits" because everybody's hopelessly in debt.

In all seriuosness, it'd be a nightmare to live in such a world. The only job for the everyman would be centred around replicators. In other words, there would be massive unemployed which means that most would probably join the military and be sent off to die in pointless wars. (Cue the entire Star Trek series.) Or be killed outright. Everybody hides behind smiles and goodwill, but beneath that there is a grimy world of evil unfathomable to us.

Lol The Member Formerly Known As Baya, US ain't defaulting on shit, no one is going to call us on it, they are too afraid, unlike australia which would probably fall to the military might of north korea or Iran.

Get real and realize that Australia is doomed, and stop projecting it onto other countries that aren't.

To expand on this, it wouldn't surprise me if Star Trek was the prequel to Warhammer 40K.

Do you have any idea just how logistically impossible it is to invade and occupy Australia? Of course you don't.

Way too much Simpsons yaoi talk in this thread. Also, a majority of Americans (people, actually, not even Americans) are just fucking stupid and don't know shit about anything, simple as that. Asking them to get into politics or understand their government is like asking you to not be gross to look at; it just can't be done.

No, all you would have to do is construct a naval blockade, and you would all die slow painful deaths. You know this is true. Australia CANNOT support itself without imports and has no navy worth mentioning, as most of it is off fucking Kangaroos.

but that isn't to say that its impossible to invade Australia and keep it.
it all depends on what level of military expertise the invading nation has and how much money they are willing to spend in trying to force us to cooperate with them.

Blockade. Australia. Blockade Australia. Think about those words carefully. Now remember that Australia's coastline is over 34000 kilometres long. If you got all the navies in the world and combined them, including merchant fleets, it wouldn't be enough to cover a quarter of that. Again, it's logistically impossible.

Also, if you think occupiers have it bad in Afghanistan/Iraq/Vietnam/whatever. Just keep in mind that the last time Australians allowed foreign soldiers (Yanks) into Australia en masse it led to a riot.

Ok, so how much of that coastline is a PORT. You know, the kind that a 3000 deadweight-tonne ship can come into? You're very ignorant about how the world ACTUALLY works The Member Formerly Known As Baya, so don't think you're some modern day cow-fucking Sun Tzu. We don't need to stop ALL ships, just commercial shipping. Sure a little will get through, but not enough to feed the millions. As prices rise, and the wellfare checks to the abbos stop coming, what do you think will happen. Also, do you REALLY think that you can resist American invasion? Unlike the Iraqis, you have no Saudi neighbors willing to supply you with explosives and oil money once we've burned your crops and crushed what you laughably call a standing army.

They're doing it the smart way: emigrating en masse.

Okay, so we've established that America will be doing the invading. Do you honestly believe that America doesn't have enemies that won't smuggle goods to Australia just to fuck with America? Yeah, there'll be shortages. Hundreds of thousands may die. So what? Australians have lived through worse. Considering how absolutely unbearable the environment is here, you'd be doing many Australians a favour by starving them to death. Australia is overpopulated as it is. And there'll be the inevitable exodus from the cities, which will save lives as they'll be relocating and growing their own food. If they're not growing it already. Most of Australia's densely populated areas are suburban, BTW. And most people have gardens. The fact is, if Iraq can survive such a blockade, Australia can survive such a blockade.

Lol, no, the only reason people would smuggle into Australia would be for cold. hard. cash. Well barter, because such a blockade would render your currency worthless, but you get my point. Don't imagine people hate America so much they would be willing to die to save the australians of all people. I mean, not to mention if we relaly wanted to kill you all, we wouldn't even have to do it that way, that would onyl be to prolong your suffering.

In Iraq, our main problem is separating the civilians from the militants. If we didn't care, we could go hog-fucking-wild and slaughter the vast majority of the population. Unlike the mountains of the Afghanistan, australia is very FLAT and very OPEN. Predator drones get steel hardons on that kind of terrain, there would be awesome footage on CNN of you little fuckers scurrying while predators rained down hellfire missiles.

You belong to a doomed race The Member Formerly Known As Baya, enjoy your miltanks while you can.

I remember a short while ago a news story about how the Republicans wanted to end voting rights to the poor. As usual, the liberal media did not report the true story and only took bits and pieces out of the Repub's idea to make them look bad. The legislation in draft really, was just to end the rights of the vote to welfare recipients. Google up Michael Vadum. But onto a further point, America was, as we all don't want to admit (well except our super anti-PC board here exempted) better run when NOT just anybody could vote.

Welfare recipients are still US citizens. Denying a citizen the right to vote is unconstitutional and wrong.

PS: There is no such thing as "the liberal media". If anything, the media has a centrist bias.

The argument is that in the same way a criminal forfeits their rights by commuting a crime, a person on welfare (who does not contribute to society) should be treated the same way, at least to a lesser extent. Dunno what I think of this, though it does provide some quality control, which the u.s desperately needs, really.

What pisses me off is socialists arguing that we need to switch out of consumerist based economy. Earlier in the conversation they said that the NWO wants to kill off most humans. The reason we have a consumerist based economy is to create jobs for all the people on Earth. If we destroyed the consumerist economy, unemployment would increase further. At that point, people would need to start killing one another for jobs.

Socialists are also for protectionist economic policies, which is actually FASCIST ECONOMIC policy. As a fascist, protectionism is a dangerous economic policy. We need to realize that FTAs are better for the world as a whole. Yeah protectionism should happen, but only in the Primary Sector of the economy, and even then only in a few industries.
