Alright EDF, you asked for it, and you're gonna maybe get it. There has been recent interest via shoutbox towards running a game of Dungeons and Dragons. Failstation and I will be your dual virgin dungeon masters, any who are interested reply in this thread or PM me personally. If you want to know more about how sexless losers and fantasy nerds spend their evenings pretending to be sparkly elves or jacked barbarians, but are unsure about how far down the rabbit hole you wanna go, here are some websites to get you started: http://www.d20srd.org/ http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Races http://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/SRD:System_Reference_Document http://www.d20pfsrd.com/alignment-description/additional-rules The site that I tentatively was thinking of trying out is a sort of hybrid chat/game site designed for online tabletop D20 games, but if anyone has a better site picked out or experience with another program let me know. The site for the actual game: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/search This is all in its babby form, so I am open to new ideas and am willing to try anything you guys have. Since this EDF2, of course this isn't going to be a serious game, and if you wanna set each others asses on fire, go ahead, just don't get too weird with the homosex shit (beyond what we already do to each other). The edition that I'm most familiar with is 3.5 and we can get the rulebooks online for free
Fuck yeah, Chaotic fire elementalist lawn gnome. Also http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Saiyans_(3.5e_Race) http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Category:Xenomorph_Subtype ... wut
There is a special sort of freak who enjoys creating character stats for cross genre characters. Its like foreplay for autists.
thats the least terrifying thing direction those people take. You don't know fear until you've had someone tell you to roll for initiative against a demonic spider goddess's bug dickstinger
You jealous you won't have a chance to play a sexually androgonous elven enchanter with flowing blonde hair? Don't worry bard is still available.
Yes, but you're being overly eager to see it, which makes me think you just want to spank it to the idea of Likeicare in tights with a blonde wig. I won't stand in the way of your love weasel, but I'm not doing all the work 4 u either.
alright Baya, we already have 1 rogue, Im ok with 2 but you guys will have to work out the whole sneak attacking/flacking together thing.
Different game, if this picks up we could make it warhams themed but with DnD rules, pretty easy to fit chaos gods into the DnD pantheon.
Try to interpret this as constructive criticism, but not once have I seen co-DMing truly work. On a lighter note, which D&D is this? What splats are allowed/prohibited?
A truly epic hack might import the Dark Gods in a really half assed way, but D&D really isn't equipped to handle Chaos, Order and Law gods at all. It *might* work a bit if you substitute RAW with DM fiat constantly and exclusively, but by that point it's freeform. None of that really enters into it because a Chaos aligned PC's first order of business is to fuck up the party, especially if they are also Chaos. I know this looks like pointless nitpicking but I'm genuinely trying to help. My "wfrp or get out" comment was a joke specifically because if anyone here does RPG, it won't be that. The first rule of the GM is to create fun, but the second is to know the rules and source material better than the back of his hand. I'd like to help. Whether that takes the form of providing info, splats, or rolling up a character doesn't matter. I've never actually gone with D&D before, so that would require quite a bit of reading and a really flimsy, noob character. Minmaxed to hell and back, of course.
We're doing 3.5 ed DnD, only cuz it's the one I'm most familiar with. There is room for Chaos, Order and Law gods in D&D depending on the campaign, but in a small early campaign, if chaotic evil characters have no drive other then "fuck everything up" everything goes down the shitter. Everyone except Baya Rae wants to be chaotic evil or lawful evil, so I did him neutral (he said he didn't care about anything beyond "human rogue" so I just did neutral to fit in). I have never Dm'd before, so I am not promising anything spectacular here, Failstation is my partner in crime here, and hopefully between the two of us, and the outside help of a longterm Dm I occasionally hook up with, this might not turn out a complete fuckfest. I will take any advice I can get here tho, so thanks.
So far, we have: 1 Half Elf Sorcerer 1 gnome fire elemtalist (evoker/wizard class) 1 human rogue 1 Half elf ranger campaign is gonna probably take place in a small walled city state, surrounding forest and nearby cave system for the real fighitng.
Will it be like fighting through an internet comments section? Can we fight a sorcerer with a draconic bloodline, that is more or less obsessed with it (i.e., a fantasy otherkin)? Because if so I'd totally play a warforged paladin (i.e., Robocop) and cite civil statutes at villains while trying to arrest them. "Sir, you are under arrest for advocating fornication with animals." (to the aforementioned sorcerer). "All pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Has this one been spayed and neutered?" (to a Gnoll). "Sir, you are under arrest for consorting with small children." (To a wizard consorting with a vampire that was turned before reaching puberty). ...I'm having way too much fun with this.
