Anyone else doing the whole bitcoin thing? What coins are you into now? What are you HODLing? What's coins would you like to get? What coins did you sell like an idiot because it went to the moon afterwards? You mining anything?

I only just started maybe three weeks ago. My initial $50 investment has since turned into $130.

I am also mining an altcoin... my current mining venture is netting me about 150 Digibyte coins (DGB) a day, which works out to be about 0.0915 BTC/month, or about $250/month... give or take. I'd RATHER be mining bitcoins, but right now DGB is the most profitable altcoin to mine, at least according to Mulltipool:

I just wish I had started all this sooner....!

mainly used bitcoin to buy drugs, short on excess cash at the moment, but i would probably buy some now.

I had like 2 bitcoins i put in agora or whatever the most popular market was 3 years ago, thinking it would never shut down and it wasn't like i would have any other use for them.

    obviously i was massively wrong.

Personally i feel ethrum is the way to go, it is the largest competitor to bitcoin.

ripple was an obvious pump and dump.

also what is everyone using this for anyway?

outside of buying drugs, it doesn't have much use. On the plus side, the huge boom the last 6 months means crypto currency is here to stay.

how the hell did bitcoin skyrocket in price anyway, it was slowly going up in price, and in the last 9 months increases in price by over 400%

It's amazing to me how it keeps spiking. I never would have guessed it would break 1200 again, but now it has far surpassed that.

I'm pissed off at myself, cuz when it hit $11k, I KNEW there would be a sell off and a temporary dip, which I could participate in and make and few extra bucks... but I slept through it all! Worse, when I decided to sell something with the goal to buy back in when it dips further... I sold at $9700, and it basically didn't go much further below that, thus ensuring that I lost money (as opposed to gain some) in the end. Bugger!

Oh well... I never thought it would hit $10k like this so soon... but I'm worried that this'll be a bubble. Still, I hope to cash out before it pops, even if I have faith that it'll have some serious long term value in the error. At the very least the money I earned when I cashed out at $9700 was the money I put into it, meaning the BTC I still have is pure profit.

    ...

I buy bulk coins on Coinbase, then transfer them to Bittrex to buy/sell Altcoins with. Coinbase's fees are a bit steep, however, but I feel the fat profits I('ll) earn when cashing out kinda evens it out.

I also mine altcoins; I'm currently at MiningPoolHub due to its coin selection and fair fees... right now I'm generating maybe $3-4/day.

I want to upgrade my graphics card so I can maybe double my earnings, but everyone else has the same idea and so good gpus are hard to find. Right now I'm mining using two 970s, but I'd like to get a 1080 in one computer and move it's 970 to the other... but that depends on whether I can find it or not...

Eh, I guess I'll jokingly put in a hundred and see if that goes down the drain some time.
Know any good places to get started?

Honestly, I wouldn't buy much right now, at least while it's still at around 15k, cuz it may crash once the whales sell off their shit and you'll definitely lose money. That 100 you're gonna throw down? Get 50 instead.

With that said... I use two platforms:

COINBASE: I use this to buy bitcoins with real money, as their fees are... reasonable. Look to spend like $3-5 in fees, no matter how much you buy.

BITTREX: I use this to buy altcoins, using the bitcoins I just bought. Altcoins help diversify your money (you gotta diversify your coins, nigga), stuff like Ethereum and Litecoin is the Silver and Copper to Bitcoin's gold.

Honestly, maybe now would be a good time to buy altcoins because everyone sold theirs off to put into bitcoin, which means they're are yearly lows. They'll bounce right back when bitcoin stabilizes in a little bit.

Problem with bitcoin is that its supposed to be a currency

And now all the normies are trying to use it as a guaranteed investment tool. I was ealking around in my local shopping centre yesterday and overheard 2 mums talking about btc.

As soon as someone major starts to sell, everyone will panic sell causing it to crash and then these people buying in at 15k will realise they are retarded and never go near it again
