They're not looking for answers, they're looking for excuses. By attaching the "crazy" label to him they can dismiss his views and his actions. Or, at least, that's what they hope to do. They don't wish to have to face future Breiviks. For good reason. Such men are what the ruling class fear.
Quick reminder. This guy is a mass murderer, not Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela wasn't a mass murderer? Tell that to the victims of the terrorists and war criminals he led. Look, only fools look for saints to worship. I have little to nothing against Mandela. (Depending on how many from my own tribe he might have killed and whether or not those he killed are worth me getting upset over.) He killed civilians because he felt/thought he had to. Breivik killed civilians because he felt/thought he had to. I don't agree with either of their methods or either of their motives, though I can understand why they did what they did.
He sounds pretty damn fucked up to me.
He's callous, not crazy. People with "personality disorders" aren't crazy, they just aren't held to the same standard as everybody else (or get the idea that they're not) so they behave crazy. Breivik might have a personality disorder but that's irrelevant. People with personality disorders still have cognition. Breivik planned this out. He worked with guns, explosives and other complex tools to carry out his (fairly complicated) plan. If anything, he's shown that he's smarter than the average person. The problem is that he, like most/all fanatics, kept filling his dead with "do or die" and "this is right, everything else is wrong" messages.
How about dreaming up a network of knights templars that picked him as the smartest in the group to carry out special missions of killing children?
That's his propaganda and ploy. He wants the ruling class of Europe to be afraid and to inspire other pan-Europeans.
Not if he believes it. Then it is his delusion and psychosis.
(since it is well astablished by now that he made it up)
Maybe you are reading sense into him that isn't there?

Context is everything. If you beat the shit out of a random kid at school, you're a bully. But if you beat the shit out of the school bully, you're a hero. Machiavelli had this down in the 14th century.
True, Mandela isn't a saint. However, Mandela took up arms as a response to the social injustice and oppression of Apartheid. Brevik took up arms because he didn't want Islamic people in Norway.
My original comparison was apt.
U can't make an omegle without breaking some balls
Breivik committed one of the most successful terrorist attacks in the past few decades and he did it all by himself (if we are to believe the media saying he is a "lone wolf") and to call him crazy or insane is retarded. The reason it is retarded because by labeling such people as insane, we as a society never try to understand the root problem: what motivates people to terrorism, in this case political terrorism. Another proof he wasn't insane is not only his explosive diversion, but his decision to gun down the future liberal party leaders and bureaucrats just goes to show he is capable of forming plots that develop in the long term, which is not typical of someone who is "insane" or "crazy."
Naw dog, dude's crazy. Seriously, anyone who gets so mad over casuals ruining their WoW that they petition for them to be banished from their server is fucking insane. Taking that piece of shit game seriously is fucking cray-cray.
