Do you mean Bk1? Fuck me, that is dedication (I thought bk2 was a lot more difficult).

Shit, I remember how hard that last boss fight was. I kept asking myself "I have to do MORE shit!?" Also, everything about that game was awesome. I loved the quiz at the end. It's just such an awesome game. Everything about it. Can't point out any specifics without going into a tirade.

I beat it as a kid and about a year ago I replayed it, did great until I got to the last battle and just could not avoid all those fireballs while shooting eggs into the Jinjonator. FUCK how are you supposed to do that? How did I do that as a little kid?!

Banjo-Tooie I never beat, I should but that game is so hard.

Still both games are amazing, I believe they rival Mario 64 for favorite N64 game.

Strange, I always thought the first one was harder than the second. The fact there was no first-person targeting kicked my ass. Meanwhile I beat the second one like three times. I'm going to have to pick up the second one again to be sure.

It probably helps I got all the notes and jiggies. That lets you fill your eggs and feathers and get the max number of honeycombs.

It also probably helped I got it on XBL. This version has really turned down the difficulty. You remember trying to get all 100 notes in Rusty Bucket Bay? And how if you died once all of them got reset? Now as soon as you pick up a note it's permanently yours. You can leave/die/turn off the game and you will still have the notes.

An interesting thing about the new version is they finally put the Stop N' Swop feature in. It connects to Nuts N' Bolts, so I haven't tried it because I don't want to play that game.

Basically it was supposed to be between the first and second games. You could trade the items from the first one to the second. The problem was you were supposed to take the game out of the system and put in the second one, as the items were stored in the 64's RAM. Of course this could have lead to data damage/lost and Nintendo told Rare they were responsible for the damages. Rare didn't want to be responsible, so the whole thing was dropped. The items appeared in the second game anyway as bonus items, but the SnS thing was dropped until NnB. I'm not sure how it is implemented in NnB, but you can get some items or something.

That's what Banjo games would be like if Rare had better drugs.

Okay. I was going to write a massive ten paragraph thesis on Banja-Kazooie and why it's one of the greatest games ever but no. I will say that BK is unrefined compared to its sequel. All the problems with BK, like those fucking cauldrons, were fixed in BT. HOWEVER, all the interesting characters and levels were in BK. So, yeah, it's coin toss.

Fun fact: Many of the movie based games LJN published for the Nes were developed by Rare. They only made good games when Nintendo was breathing down their neck.

Bumping because I bought Banjo Tooie on XBL and it has some SnS features. If you take them to Heggy she'll hatch them and you get shit. One of the eggs gives you a gamer pic and another gives you a BK theme for your dashboard. I got all of the eggs from the first game but she says there are more. No clue what that's about.
